Crewe Brass are looking for Brass and Percussion players.

Having moved into a COVID secure, new home at the Crewe Heritage Centre on Vernon Way in Crewe, just 8 mins off J16 of the M6 and ideally located for local players and those from Manchester, the Midlands and North Wales, they want to give players of all ages the opportunity to come and have fun playing, with no hassle and no subs, just music to play.

Crewe Brass Musical Director Adam Shilton

They rehearse at the Crewe Heritage Centre once a week on a Friday night 7.30-9.30pm and would love to welcome new faces to the band.

Crewe Brass are a third section competing brass band in the North West area and are well known throughout South Cheshire and beyond.

They have a history going back forty years.

They were formed when the North Midland Co-operative Society sponsored one of the best youth bands in the country – South Cheshire Young Brass – and included players from the United Co-op Youth Band.

A representative from Crewe Brass said:

“This is an exciting opportunity for those players who have been away from banding either because life took a different direction and you now feel like picking up that Cornet or Baritone again, or if you have been worried about COVID.
Crewe Brass offers the best COVID safe band room you could wish to play in.”

They added “We rehearse in the massive Exhibition Hall at the Crewe Heritage Centre in Crewe (just behind Tesco) on a Friday night from 7.30pm till 9.30pm, where we have all the resources you could wish for.
If you need an instrument, just message us and we will get back to you as we have lots available. Don’t worry about subs, there are none! All we want, and need, is for players to come down, have a blow, and have fun.”

They went on to say “All brass players, young and old, experienced and those wishing to perhaps go up from a youth band, our Musical Director Adam Shilton would love to see you.
We are fully DBS checked and have a Safeguarding policy in place too as well as the COVID measure such as socially distanced rehearsals, hand gel and a regular brew too!”
