Kind hearted local vet Tom from Eden veterinary surgery in Shavington is hoping to raise much needed funds for hard working animal rescue Cafo (Cheshire Animal Fundraising Organisation).

Tom is set to soar up to 10,000 feet in aid of local animals that need help and treatment 24/7 that are in the care of this hard working and caring rescue.

The non-profit organisation was set up in 2021 to help local animals in need at the various rescues, since then the support has grown for Cafo and is fast becoming a very respected name in the local community.
They pay for the medical care of the rescued animals plus any spaying, neutering, chipping, jabs, and tests etc.
In addition to fundraising they raise funds via their rescue selling page on Facebook.

The Crewe News team managed to speak to Tom and ask him how he feels about this huge venture he is about to take
We asked him how he feels about this jump and if he has ever done one before….

Tom said:

I’ve never done a parachute jump before. It’s been on my bucket list for some time now and I’m looking forward to ticking it off whilst raising funds for a very deserving cause.
I’m currently feeling very keen and excited to jump. I enjoy risks and the challenges they bring to life, so I’m really looking forward to this
I might be feeling slightly different when hanging out the side of a plane at 10,000ft though!

We asked Tom about training that may be involved beforehand.

Tom added:

There is a briefing session in the morning before the jump. I’m hoping I’ll pick up all I need to know during that time… if not, I may be in trouble.

Cafo was nominated as the chosen cause for 2022 by local radio station Sonnet Radio
You can visit their page and listen to a short recorded promo about them here – Sonnet Radio Chosen Cause 2022

Tom is a very busy man indeed so we concluded the interview by asking him why he chose Cafo in particular.

Tom finished:

Cafo is a charity that we work with a lot at Eden Vets. Eden is a young practice in the area and it was very kind of Cafo to put their trust in us to look after the animals that are entrusted to their care. I wanted to give something back to a charity that I believe does very good work, to repay their trust in us at Eden and to make a difference to a local charity who run on much smaller budgets than the national charities.

Cafo would love to have more supporters to help them fundraise, so do have a look at how you can support Cafo, maybe you would like to give a cat a loving forever home, make a donation or offer assistance in any way.
Please support Tom with his parachute jump by donating to his fundraiser page here: Cafo Parachute Jump

We asked April from the Cafo team how they all feel about Tom’s kind gesture

April said:

We are so extremely grateful and amazed for what Tom is doing for our rescue.
We trust and appreciate everything they have done and do for our animals in our care.
The staff at Eden vets are the most amazing hardworking people, everyone that works there are all so efficient and compassionate in the job they do.
Thank you Tom and the Eden team from April, Sarah, Sue and Liz the cafo team.
